One year ago, I posted my first image here on DA on August 25 and my first image was for the Think Pink III contest. This is an anniversary for me then. Unfortunately I wasn't finished on time for August 25th Also one year ago, I entered the contest because it finally made me post here as I was procrastinating to start my gallery. I was just coming out of radiotherapy treatments myself and I wanted to do something special, to bring awareness to breast cancer but also to celebrate because I was a survivor.

I dedicate this image to all the women before me. Without them, medicine wouldn't have made the advancements it made that allowed me to survive.

The image is inspired by the moment the surgeon talked to me about all the possibilities, about how I might lose my breast and go through chemo. But finally it didn't happen, I didn't lose my breast and I had radiotherapy instead. This image is about sadness, loss and fear but also about hope.

Background and ribbons done in Photoshop and I had the help of hanging veils stock by to texture the skirt.
