tck tck tck Beds are burning

Sat Oct 3, 2009, 7:46 AM
This December, world leaders will come together for the United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen charged with finding a way the world can work together to stop global warming. Nearly 15,000 officials and diplomats from over 200 countries are due at the 11-day meeting that experts are already calling the most significant gathering in history. Can the world be saved in just a week and a half? With all our help, maybe.

To raise awareness for the meeting, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, along with Bob Geldof – who knows a thing or two about launching campaigns – have announced the Tck Tck Tck campaign. The aim is to enforce the right amount of public pressure on those making the key decisions.

The Global Humanitarian Forum in collaboration with record label THE:HOURS, during Paris fashion week at the Université de Paris Descartes launched a song for the 'tck tck tck' Time for Climate Justice campaign, a remake of Midnight Oil's "Beds ‘r Burning", available as a free download.

Downloading the song will register you as a Climate Ally in the fight for Climate Justice. To download the song for free: [link] and you can continue to the official site for more information: [link]

You're most welcome. I saw it in another artist's journal style and thought it was theirs but when I didn't see it in their gallery, I finally discovered it was yours. It's beautiful :)

Thank you very much  I was happy to read your comment about my journal yesterday after receiving the following negative comment: "Global warming is a lie so the "Liberal" freaks(communists) and the corporations can control every aspect of our lives." You cheered me up :D
    :iconpeter-the-knotter:
I find a comment like that laughable and naive to say the least... never be tempted to argue with a person who can be so impolitely ignorant. We need more people prepared to post stuff on subjects other than themselves... bravo!

Yes, you can see in my journal that I didn't respond. Every time, I thought of answering, I thought, what can I answer to that? lol And I thought it was a bit impolite too to come to my gallery only to post that comment :) And thank you :) I don't feel too comfortable to talk about myself in my journal, except when it's a very positive thing like being published in a magazine... I'm not from the same generation as most artists here ;) They talk very easily about very private things... But if I don't use my journal to talk about myself, on the other hand, it is a very good place for public social issues :)
    :iconpeter-the-knotter:
...That's why I kept it general... (oh yeah, somethings should remain private in order to be really special don't you think?) Best Wishes, a stranger in a strange land.... :D  , P.
